Jay Z’s been under a bit of fire recently for his Magna Carta Holy Grail album; first of all, the distribution with Samsung wasn’t counted by Billboard, then there were loads of problems with Samsung and their partnership, and then, as it happened, the album wasn’t even that good.

It's all been piling on for Jay.

But the fact that Billboard ignored the million albums given away by Samsung to their users doesn’t bother him. "If you're not with the changing times, you're irrelevant to me. I'm going to move on," Jay told hip-hop journalist Elliott Wilson in an interview posted on the rapper's Life + Times YouTube page.

"What am I supposed to do? Just wait and sit here... and wait until it gets to zero before I do something," he asked. "I went out on my own and I made a deal. I made a straight, above-the-board deal," he argued. This type of deal was earmarked for his and Kanye's Watch the Throne LP, and it probably would have been better placed so Kanye would have taken 50% of the blame.

Even H.O.V.A. isn't a god, after all.

"Kanye gets really excited when he makes music, and he was ready to put out 'H.A.M.' and he was ready to put out music. I wanted to hold the whole thing and give it to the world at one time and do this sort of deal," he said of their 2011 rollout. "When that didn't go through, I was like, 'OK.' I just held it for myself."

Honey badger... pardon, Jay Z don't care.
