Jay Z has a new album on the way; it’s called Magna Carter Holy Grail and you already know this. You also probably know that Samsung smartphone owners, who have downloaded the special app, will get a free copy.

This will amount to a million users, but that fact that a million people will be bopping along to his new record on their way to work, or to the gym or while doing the dishes, doesn’t mean those numbers will count for the Billboard charts. "The bottom line is they're getting paid on a million albums," Bakula told Reuters. "From what Billboard considers chart-eligible, we don't count free-to-consumers (albums)." The legendary rapper announced the new album in a classy three-minute television commercial during the telecast of basketball's NBA Finals. It features him and a few choice musicians working out new material in a swanky studio space. He tweeted today about the album, saying "If 1 Million records gets SOLD and billboard (magazine) doesn't report it, did it happen? Ha...Platinum!!!"

The free million albums wont really make a dent in Jay Z’s projected income from the new work, especially considering he’s due to go on tour with Justin Timberlake. The tour will be called "Legends of Summer" and will kick off on July17. It will see the pair reunited after working together on Timberlake's hit song "Suit & Tie."
