Actress Jennifer Lawrence helped to raise money for a young leukaemia sufferer's medical bills by hosting a block party in Kentucky over the weekend (21-22Jun14).

Hadley Mercer, a Lawrence family friend, was diagnosed with the blood cancer when she was six months old and recently celebrated her first birthday.

In December (13), The Hunger Games star visited Mercer, who is now in remission, in the hospital and on Saturday (21Jun14), she threw a block party with her brother Ben through his company, Louisville Geek, to help the family raise funds for Mercer's medical bills.

During the event, Lawrence raffled off a trip to Belize and signed memorabilia from the American Hustle and The Hunger Games films.
