Actress Jennifer Lawrence shone the spotlight on former U.S. President Bill Clinton as she handed him a trophy during the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (Glaad) Media Awards on Saturday (20Apr13).
The Hunger Games star took the stage with movie mogul Harvey Weinstein to present Clinton with the Advocate for Change Award at the star-studded bash, hosted by Drew Barrymore at Los Angeles' JW Marriott Hotel.
Clinton was the first American president to appoint openly gay and lesbian workers to all levels of government, but he joked to the crowd that 22-year-old Lawrence is too young to remember his time in office.
He quipped, "I don't know why Harvey made Jennifer do that. She really was like two years old when I became president. I met her backstage and she looked like she was touring the Museum of Natural History."
Leonardo DiCaprio and Charlize Theron also teamed up at the event to honour lawyer Steve Warren for his activism efforts in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (Lgbt) community.
Other big winners included Emma Watson's drama The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which was named Outstanding Film: Wide Release, while The New Normal, American Horror Story: Asylum and soap opera Days of Our Lives took the top Tv honours.
Matt Dallas, Justin Bartha, Mary Steenburgen, Jennifer Morrison, Betty White and Alex Pettyfer were among the famous faces attending the event, which will be followed by another prizegiving in San Francisco, California on 11 May (13).
