Jennifer Lawrence is having some start to 2013! Scooping just about every award under the sun for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook, but now the young actress is heading for a completely different challenge this weekend when she takes on responsibilities as host on the upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live.
The double Oscar nominee (and probably a winner by the end of February) spoke to press yesterday (Jan 17) about her upcoming appearance on the massively popular sketch show, spilling the beans on what we can expect in her first real foray into comedy. In the discussion she explained that her bow and arrows, the weapons she utilises so well in the hit movie adaption of The Hunger Games, have been left at home, saying, “No, I retired my bow and arrow for this weekend.”
The actress went on to add that her Silver Linings co-star, Bradley Cooper - a former SNL host himself, had given her no tips on what to expect on the show, and she was very much thrown in at the deep end of the comedy pool. If her funny bones are as susceptible as most then we should be in for a treat when SNL airs, with Lawrence reassuringly telling, "“I don’t think I’ve ever laughed this much in my entire life. It’s just been incredible. It’s just amazing working with people — their job is just to be funny all day every day. You are in a room with some of the funniest people in the entire world.”
And what can we expect from J-Law as she treads the famous SNL boards? “Me, acting like an idiot. A lot,” she said. Sounds good to us.
