What is it about JLaw that makes everyone crazy about her?
Everyone loves Jennifer Lawrence these days – this writer included, of course. And what’s not to love: the 23-year-old actress has risen from relative obscurity to Oscar-winning, blockbuster-starring career heights in just over two years and, what’s arguably more impressive, she’s managed to keep her wits about her in the process. Speaking of wits, Lawrence is one witty lady. Let’s just say the quote “Food is one of my favorite parts of the day” probably belongs on an embroidered pillow. Make it happen, Internet.
At this point in her career, JLaw seems to be the one celebrity who can do no wrong.
But on a more important note, Lawrence keeps advocating confidence and body positivity in her public appearances and busting myths about celebrity culture left and right. Just recently, she talked to BBC Newnight, promoting The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and spilling out quite a lot of truth along the way. Lawrence said: "We have the ability to control this image that young girls are going to be seeing [in 'The Hunger Games']... girls see enough of this body that they will never be able to obtain... It's an amazing opportunity to rid ourselves of that in this industry."
The actress doesn’t shy away from her awkwardness and, in fact, publicly embraces it (remember that Oscars fall?), but she does also have quite a few gems of wisdom to share in the run-up to Catching Fire’s release.
The new haircut is quite adorable as well.
There’s also time for the fans, though. During last night’s Catching Fire premiere in London, JLaw decided to stop in the middle of the red carpet and walked off to comfort a crying young fan. There were pictures, hugs and all of that good stuff. Isn’t that just darling? Yes, it is possible that Lawrence’s entire awkwardly lovable persona is a PR campaign, but at this point, nobody really cares. The world loves to love the Hunger Games actress and there can’t be anything wrong with that.
It looks like Hollywood's love affair with Lawrence is just beginning.
