Jeremy Renner says jumping out of the world's tallest building was a ''beautiful'' scene in 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' but he was initially terrified of the stunt.
Jeremy Renner was "terrified" doing stunts for 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol'.
The actor agreed to follow co-star Tom Cruise in throwing himself out of the world's tallest building - the Burj Khalifa in Dubai - in a scene from the action movie, and says the result was "beautiful", once he had overcome his nerves.
He said: "So Tom's been running around the building the whole time, and I thought 'I can do this.'
"There's only this little belt, one wire and a bloke who doesn't look like he's paying attention holding me up, so I was a bit concerned. A couple of seconds later, I was doing it. And it became a beautiful scene, once the terror passed."
Although Jeremy is an established actor, he admits he found it surreal when he first received a call from Tom to discuss working on the latest instalment in the 'Mission: Impossible' franchise though they quickly formed a Bond.
He told The Huffington Post: "It's a strange feeling when Tom Cruise calls your house. I'd met him several times over the years, and we'd sat down to discuss the movie.
"So I went home, the phone rang 15 minutes later, and it was Tom Cruise, asking if I wanted to do it. I couldn't say no, and it all worked out, and I've learned a lot from the guy this past year.
"Tom was very generous with time and compliments. He was very hands-on, and makes you feel part of it, so it was the opposite of intimidating, it was inspiring. He sets a high bar of wanting to make the film as great as it can be, with the best stunts. So we all just wanted to make the film great as well."
