How do Wizards celebrate birthdays?
In Harry Potter world, the boy with the scar on his face is very much a man. In fact, he’s 33 now; his kids are probably starting Hogwarts and the Potters are sitting at home, wondering if their little ones have an evil overlord looking to kill them and enslave the rest of the world.
Happy Birthday J.K. Rowling!
That’s right, Harry Potter turned 33 yesterday in the legend, and J.K. Rowling – it’s rude to reveal a lady’s age – had a birthday, too. To celebrate, Rowling probably went for a nice meal and moaned some more about those idiots that revealed her pseudonym. Harry, on the other hand, has a new look to his books, as brand new covers have been issued for novels 1-7.
This will only effect two groups of people: the Potter-fanatics, who will want to snap up those fresh sleeves like lemonade on a hot day, and newcomers to the franchise. Still, it’s a nice way to mark the anniversary Potter and his creator.
Daniel Radcliffe let off some steam with the drums
Mr. Daniel Radcliffe himself enjoyed Potter’s birthday by taking in some recreational Muggle action. For him, it meant looking ridiculously inebriated, sweating and banging drums in a club on his own. Look, we all have our own ways of dealing with extreme fame, and if the actor wants to make a fool out of himself, it’s none of our business. Well, it is a bit. The Sun had pics.
It’s a double celebration for Rowling. She accepted a large donation from the law firm that let her Robert Galbraith pseudonym slip out, and she still plans to write a follow up to Cuckoo’s Calling.
