We all love Johnny Depp – come on, we do. But part of that unconditional love is accepting the bad things about him, and as it happens, those bad things come in the form of some awful things – Lone Ranger being the worst.

Not only has the Lone Ranger story been accused (multiple times) of being racist – the depiction of Native Americans is less that satisfactory – it’s simply not a good film. One peek at the Rotten Tomatoes page for it tells the whole story: a 16% rating, and it’s not like we’re waiting for some more to come in – this is it!

The Lone Ranger
This could be Johnny Depp's worst film ever

“The real problem with the new "Lone Ranger" is that, for those who are familiar with the multibillion-dollar "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, there is little fresh or exciting about what we have here,” say Los Angeles Times, bemoaning the lack of originiality in Depp’s character from that of Jack Sparrow – his Keith Richards-inspired role in Pirates.

Watch the Lone Ranger trailer:

“Despite its impressively staged set pieces, The Lone Ranger can't survive the epic train wreck resulting from its own tonal clashes, wherein mournful scenes of genocide and stolen immigrant labor are tastelessly juxtaposed with silly slapstick humor,” say The Washington Post in possibly the most damning review we found.

Fans of Depp will probably ignore the reviews and head straight to the cinema to watch this – in fact, the pull of Depp is probably the strongest thing about this film, and considering the bad reviews, that’s saying something. Come on Depp, so better!
