Julia Roberts says it is important to have an awareness of social media but insists she isn't worried about not having Twitter or Facebook herself.
Julia Roberts says an awareness of social media is important.
Whilst the 'Notting Hill' star doesn't subscribe to sites like Facebook and Twitter herself, she understands the importance of it.
When asked if she worries about not being engaged with social media, she told the new issue of InStyle magazine: ''What's a good analogy? It's like people talking about a TV show: I can be perfectly aware of the TV show and the story, but it doesn't mean I watch it.
''I have other friends who watch it, and they tell me about it. I mean we were talking about Instagram. Everyone has Instagram on their phone. [if I had it] I would be looking at it all the time.''
Meanwhile, the 48-year-old actress - who has Hazel, 11, Phinnaeus, 11 and Henry, eight, with her husband Daniel Moder - previously admitted she is ''a genuinely and deeply happy person'' and credits her family for keeping her so positive.
She shared: ''I am a genuinely and deeply happy person, which, as life goes on, you realise what great fortune that is, to feel like you just have the natural chemistry of joy.
''I don't think it's healthy or productive to self-analyse. The way a person smiles is the way they smile. It sort of becomes this thing: 'Let's see that smile.' I can smile or I can not smile, but I can't perform.
''I don't know if I would have succeeded in some of the efforts that I made if he hadn't been in such close physical proximity to me. There's something about having the safest place in the world for you in the same room.''
