Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are engaged.

The rapper hired out AT&T Park baseball stadium yesterday (21.10.13) to propose to reality star Kim on her 33rd Birthday.

A 50-piece orchestra played Lana Del Rey's 'Young and Beautiful' followed by Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo's and Kanye's 'Knock You Down'.

After seeking mother-in-law Kris Jenner's blessing, the 36-year-old hip-hop star gave Kim a 15-carat diamond ring by celebrity jeweller Lorraine Schwartz.

Fireworks and Roman candles exploded in the sky of the empty 42,000-capacity stadium, which is home of Major League Baseball team the San Francisco Giants.

A screen above the playing field flashed with the message, ''PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!! (sic)''.

All of Kim's close family and friends - apart from four-month-old daughter North - were secretly waiting in the stands and swarmed out onto the pitch to congratulate her when she accepted his proposal.

Kanye had reportedly flown in from Hollywood after presenting at the 2013 Hollywood Film Festival, making the proposal even more of a surprise.

Kim's sister Khloe expressed her delight at the engagement on Twitter, gushing: ''Wow!!!!! Am I dreaming??!?! / Tears of JOY!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!! (sic)''.

Kim's mother Kris is also delighted that Kanye has finally popped the question.

She told E! News: ''[It's] a match made in heaven! I am so happy for both of my kids, Kim and Kanye.''

Kim has since shown off her diamond ring on photo sharing website Instagram.

The couple are said to be planning on having two weddings.

Kim wants to tie the knot in California, while Kanye wants her to walk down the aisle in Paris, France, the place where baby North was conceived.

A source exclusively told Yahoo omg!: ''Kim wants to get married on the cliffs overlooking the sea in California, she's planning a night time wedding under the stars.

''But Kanye wants to marry in Paris, flying everyone over to the hotel Le Meurice on two private jets ... he wants to marry on Parisian soil, it's symbolic for him and it's the place he considers to have been the biggest inspiration in his life.''
