Kim Kardashian may have had nothing but good things to say about Bahrain following her visit to the small Gulf nation, however a number of locals had gathered only a few hours before her visit to denounce the reality star in a bid to make her visit to the sovereignty a somewhat more unenjoyable time.

Kim was in Bahrain to launch another branch of her Millions of Milkshakes shop at one of the country's largest shopping complexes in Riffa, just south of the capital Manama, having opened another branch in Kuwait earlier this week. Yet whilst her visit was trouble-free, a number of demonstrators had gathered outside the mall only hours before Kardashian arrived. With cries of 'God is Great' and slogans that read: "none of our customs and traditions allow us to receive stars of porn movies," her visit was hardly welcomed by a number of hardliners. Riot squads were called in by the country's top officials to disperse the crowds though, meaning Kim could enjoy a care-free visit to the totalitarian nation.

Kim faced further criticism again when she had left the country, this time for Tweeting: "Thanks Sheikh Khalifa for your amazing hospitality. I'm in love with The Kingdom of Bahrain."

Her praise for the dictator was obviously met with a barrage of disparagement, yet unlike some of her other misguided appraisals in the past - such as her pro-Israeli Tweet last month - she has yet to delete this one.
