They didn't see nuthin' wrong with it
Lady GaGa was both the host and the musical guest on this weeks Saturday Night Live, and whilst the bulk of her appearance on the show was surprisingly tame for the shock-value singer, her duet with R Kelly midway through the show was much more sexually charged than anything else we've seen from the current season of the long-running sketch show.
The singer even dressed slightly less eccentric for the SNL gig
Becoming the second person - after Miley Cyrus - to serve as both the host and musical guest this season, Gaga had a lot on her plate come Saturday night, but at no point did it ever look as though she was overwhelmed or succumbing to any type of pressure. After poking fun of herself and performing some cuts from her latest album, ARTPOP, Gaga was joined on stage for the highlight performance of the night by her 'Do What You Want' collaborator R Kelly, at which point things really started getting hotter and heavier.
Getting things going with a few crotch grabs, Gaga then got down on the floor and had Kelz crouch over her, essentially doing push ups over the star. The R&B star then got Gaga on her feet again, only to be straddled by her, essentially, as the song reached its climax. It was a moment in TV history that will forever hold uncomfortable emotional damage for anyone who watched it with their parents.
The SNL gig wasn't just an excuse for Gaga to ride a R&B legend like a stripper pole, as it also preceded her expected ascendancy to the top of the Billboard 200 next week with her latest album, ARTPOP. According to Billboard, her third studio LP is currently being forecast to reach sales of 240,000 to 250,000 by the end of this week, comfortably placing it in the top spot.
ARTPOP is expected to top the Billboard album chart this week
