American pop-star, Lady GaGa, smoked 15 joints of ganja a day to cope with her excruciating hip pain.

The 27 year-old admitted, in an interview with UK's Attitude Magazine, turning to marijuana after suffering a labral tear of her right hip due to a show injury in February, which caused the 'Pokerface' singer gruelling pain whilst performing.

"I was smoking 15 joints a day," Gaga revealed. "It was a habit that eventually occurred when the pain got so bad with the hip."

The injury forced the 'Paparazzi' singer to undergo surgery to repair her broken hip, and having to be wheelchair bound following the op, Gaga cancelled 25 shows of her 'Born This Way' Ball tour.

"I was just numbing, numbing, numbing myself then sleeping it off, then getting on stage, killing it in pain, then getting off and smoking, smoking, smoking, not knowing what the pain was. F--k if I know what hurts the most, you know? I would break the habit and it would sneak back in and I would break it and sneak back in," Gaga explained.

The New York City native also thought he reliance on drugs came from being a struggling artist earlier in her career, as she said, "I went through terrible experiences early in my career climbing through swine and swine of men in the music industry - just trying to get somebody to listen to my music and take me seriously as a songwriter instead of trying to get me to b*** them".

The singer/songwriter further admitted to still smoking weed but she now doesn't rely on it.

Gaga is currently promoting her new album 'Artpop' which was released earlier this week on November 6th (2013).
