Lady GaGa's racy music video for her song LOVE GAME is facing a ban from a top Australian TV show over claims the clip is too sexually suggestive.
TV censors at Channel 10 have issued Love Game an M rating, disqualifying it from being aired on Video Hits, Australia's longest-running music programme.
In the promo, the singer appears naked apart from strategically placed jewels as she straddles male dancers while singing the lyrics, "I wanna take a ride on your disco stick", "I'm educated in sex'', and "I want it bad''.
But unless the singer can provide a toned-down version, the song - currently at number 18 in the Australian charts - will not receive any airtime on Video Hits.
Producer Ben Fletcher says, "It's pretty rare we get a pop clip that's sexual to the point there's almost no way we can edit it without destroying the original intent of the video.
"It's not just the lyrics and the visuals; if you were to judge it just upon either of those it might not be so bad. It's the cumulative impact of all those things together."
