The Lollipop hitmaker recently released his new single Glory exclusively through the streaming company and on Thursday (04Jun15), it was announced that he had joined the board of shareholders and would be performing an exclusive show for subscribers.

A statement from the rapper reads, "TIDAL is a great way to share music directly with fans.

"I'm hyped (excited) for people to hear my latest track and can't wait to show fans love through a special TIDAL X (show)."

Tidal executive Vania Schlogel adds, "We're honoured for Lil Wayne to join TIDAL. His eagerness to release an exclusive TIDAL track and schedule a TIDAL X performance is just another example of how passionately artists care about getting their music to fans."

Details surrounding the 32 year old's show have yet to be released, but he joins fellow artist owners Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Madonna, Rihanna and his protegee Nicki Minaj, who are all investors in the company.

Lil Wayne's new venture comes after he launched legal action in January (15) against his Cash Money Records bosses Bryan 'Birdman' Williams and Ronald 'Slim' Williams, seeking the termination of his contract.

The news of Wayne's involvement in Tidal emerges days after another of his Young Money Entertainment artists, Drake, reportedly pulled out of a shareholder deal shortly before the service's star-studded relaunch in March (15).
