Miley Cyrus delivered a powerful speech at the amfAR Inspiration Gala on Tuesday evening, where she was honoured for her work in the fight against AIDS. The singer wore a floor length red gown at the event, held in New York City, which was embellished with heart prints and featured an oversized bow at the back.

Cyrus’ date for the evening was 24 year old Tyler Ford, who identifies as agender. Introducing Tyler on twitter Cyrus wrote, 'Tyler is a queer, biracial, agender person, whose pronouns are they/them/theirs. Tyler shares about their identity, experiences and hopes saying: "My whole life, I was led to believe that there were only two genders.”

Singer Miley Cyrus has been putting her fame to very good use as of late, becoming something of a spokesperson for gender and sexuality issues. Last month Cyrus launched non-profit organisation the Happy Hippie Foundation, which helps homeless LGBT youth. Now the singer is sharing her #InstaPride campaign, which aims to spread positive images of gender-nonconforming people and their supportive families.

Speaking to Time, Cyrus opened up about her own experiences with gender and sexuality, after describing herself as ‘gender fluid’. “i’m just equal. I’m just even. It has nothing to do with any parts of me or how I dress or how I look. It’s literally just how I feel,” the singer said.

Miley Cyrus has stripped off for the very dirty cover of Paper magazine’s summer issue, posing alongside her pet pig Bubba Sue. The singer appears nude and muddy while hugging her beloved pet pig on the cover, which was shot by photographer Paola Kudacki.

Miley Cyrus has discussed her passion for LGBT rights in a recent interview. She has founded the Happy Hippie Foundation to provide support for young LGBT people. The Foundation, which will provide digital support services for LGBT youths and their families, aims to 'rally young people to fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBT youth and other vulnerable populations.' There is a link between homelessness and LGBT rights as, in the US, around 40% of the 1.6 million young people living on the street identify as LGBT.

The Happy Hippie Foundation aims to raise funds and increase awareness about youth homelessness as well as creating digital support groups for LGBT youths and their families.

Since 1992, EJAF (Elton John AIDS Foundation) has raised over 321 million USD to help combat AIDS/HIV. One of the biggest events on EJAF's calendar is that of the Academy Awards Ceremony - for the last 23 years, Sir Elton John has hosted a special Academy Awards viewing party, in which celebrities from all areas of the entertainment industry come together to watch the Oscars, whilst raising money for the foundation. This year was no exception.

Fashion lovers and Hollywood fans were desperately checking in to the Sunset Tower Hotel to watch The Daily Front Row's Fashion Los Angeles Awards on 22nd January 2015. For those of you that have never heard of the Fashion Los Angeles Awards, don't worry; you aren't at fault as Thursday night's award show was the first of what is hoped to be annual event. An event which, apparently, honours the finest contributions to the style of Hollywood from the world of fashion.

For the inaugural event, a host of celebrities flocked to the Sunset Tower to present awards, or just watch the action unfold before them. Drew Barrymore and Ciara were called upon to present some of the prestigious awards, with stars like Rihanna, Katy Perry and Kanye West taking up the front row of seats for the show. Miley Cyrus also presented an award. Whilst wearing an oversized t-shirt emblazoned with the statement "I had nothing to wear so I put on this Moschino dress", Cyrus presented the awards for 'Womenswear Designer of the Year' to Jeremy Scott.

The bright designs looked a little like something you might have sported back in childhood, but teamed with Scott's wild but fun clothing, it made for a bright and bold collection that's perfect for summer. Next summer, that is.

Jesse Helt, 22, the homeless man who was asked by Miley Cyrus to collect an award for her at the MTV Music Video Awards, is wanted by police in his home state of Oregon. Millions watched on Sunday as Helt collected the award for 'video of the year' for Miley's Wrecking Ball, with the former Disney star wanting to raise awareness about homelessness among young people.

Miley Cyrus has been banned from performing in the Dominican Republic. The commission overseeing public performances in the country has cancelled an upcoming concert in the capital city Santo Domingo by Cyrus that was due to take place on September 13th.

Miley Cyrus has honoured the memory of her late dog Floyd along with two of her friends by adding a tattoo to her already impressive collection. The 21-year-old showcased her latest ink on Instagram where two of her friends, Katy Weaver and Wayne Coyne, also showed they had the same one.

This is Cyrus' latest stunt in which she pays homage to her late pet. In April, only days after the husky's death, Cyrus sang an emotional tribute to him whilst performing in Boston. Miley Cyrus’ extended Bangerz tour will make several stops in Australia later this year. Promoters The Dainty Group announced that Cyrus will be playing five dates down under in October. According to Billboard, the Australian leg will start in Melbourne on October 10, then move through Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide and finish on October 23 in Perth.

Watch out Australia, Miley Cyrus is on her way (or she will be, in less than four months.)

In one of the oddest collaborations since Nelly gave country artist Tim Mcgraw a call and asked to bring his Louisiana drawl to the R&B track “Over And Over”, Snoop Dogg has teamed up with South Korean viral success Psy to unleash the track “Hangover” upon the world. It’s not the first time the G-funk master has produced a piece of work with an artist from disparate corners of the music world. He has previously teamed up with Miley Cyrus for the track “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks” during the rapper’s ill-conceived stint as adopting the Rastafarian lifestyle under the moniker of Snoop Lion.

Snoop Dogg and Psy's collaboration has been widely attacked by both of their respective fans.

Debuting in the US on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the video attained over 3.5 million views in 24 hours and currently boasts viewing figures of almost 25 million. But such figures are small fry for K-pop megastar Psy, who has become the first artist to break the 2 billion mark on Youtube. Being caught with a joint is really nothing new in the world of pop, especially amongst those aggressively seeking a change of image that will subsequently add a semblance of ‘edge’ to their persona. Miley Cyrus appears to be feeling better after she was hospitalised last week. Cyrus and her representatives have been keeping her fans up to date with her condition whilst she recovers in a Kansas City hospital. 21-year-old Cyrus was hospitalised following an allergic reaction she suffered on Tuesday (15th April).

Miley Cyrus has had it rough this week, as the star has been hospitalized for a severe allergic reaction. Cyrus reportedly reacted badly to antibiotic medicine. On Tuesday night, the Adore You singer was in Kansas City on her Bangerz tour. According to TMZ, she was at the SpiritCenter, getting ready to perform, when she was struck down with a sudden bout of illness. Doctors diagnosed the symptoms as a bad reaction to antibiotics and ordered her on bed rest immediately.

Naturally, the concert was cancelled, with attendees to be refunded as soon as. The 21 year-old singer has been hospitalized after suffering from a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics.

Cyrus was forced to cancel her 'Bangerz' show at the Kansas City Sprint Center which was scheduled for Tuesday (April 15th).

Willie Nelson suffered a fright this week when his stuffed Armadillo, Ol’Dillo was stolen after a Las Vegas concert. Luckily for the country legend, his toy mascot was returned to him on Tuesday morning by its embarrassed and apologetic kidnapper. Whilst Willie was pretty lucky, some other celebrities have been less fortunate when it comes to retrieving their stolen goods and they’ve ended up loosing much more than a stuffed armadillo.

Miley Cyrus' mother has attempted to mend her daughter's broken heart by buying her an adorable new puppy, Moonie. Sadly, Cyrus is experiencing mixed emotions concerning her new pet as it is less than a week since her dog, Floyd, passed away.

Miley Cyrus announced her dog, Floyd, had died on Tuesday.

In a series of tweets which would touch even the stoniest of hearts, Cyrus has expressed her sorrow at the loss of her beloved pet. Cyrus first tweeted the sad news on Tuesday (April 1st) and performed a special rendition of Fleetwood Mac's 'Landslide' in Boston whilst on her Bangerz tour. She wept whilst on stage, having apologised to fans in advance on Twitter stating "I'm sorry in advance if I'm not myself tomorrow Boston. I will try my best to be my best." Cyrus spoke to the audience about her state of mind following her loss, saying: "I'm sure you guys already know, but the reason that I'm so upset is my dog, I shouldn't say he was my favourite but he was my favourite, he passed away." She explained why she had chosen to sing a Fleetwood Mac song, stating she and Floyd used to listen to it together.

 Miley Cyrus might be a professional entertainer, but at the end of the day, she’s only human. The Adore You singer had a very emotional moment during her latest show – in Boston – when she performed a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide. Cyrus’s favorite dog Floyd (excellent pet name, by the way) recently passed away, so Cyrus had to tweet about it, naturally. That was on Tuesday. But losing an animal is a pretty big deal, so on Thursday she was still shaken up, when she took the stage in Boston.

Miley faltered during her Boston show, but she had an excuse.

"It's gonna be hard for me to sing this next song. I'm not sounding myself, I don't feel myself," Cyrus, 21, said, clearly emotional. That’s understandable, but the next bit... well, either Miley is a queen among drama queens or Floyd really was a very special creature.

Skidmore College in New York is offering a course called ‘The Sociology of Miley Cyrus’, which gives students the opportunity to explore the journey of the Hannah Montana star, beginning with her days on the Disney show and culminating with whatever the hell she is these days.

Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato, Disney BFFs or twitter sworn enemies? Sometimes it’s hard to tell where we stand with this pair’s rocky, roller coaster friendship. Now it seems the famous frenemies might finally be done for good as they've both unfollowed each other on twitter. But where or how did this very un-Disney beef start?

Firing the first shot was a pre twerking Miley, who in 2008 posted a Youtube video with her friend Mandy Jiroux that seemingly poked fun at Demi and pal Selena Gomez. You see Demi and Selena had their own Youtube channel of smiley, happy vids that reached out to their legions of fans, In one such upload Selena proudly showed off her new ‘Power Rangers’ tee and Demi revealed she’d had her teeth fixed. Miley and her friend Mandy (who?) seemed to find it all pretty funny and created their own video sending up Demi and Selena in the process. Much reference was made to Demi’s new smile (she’d had the gap in her teeth removed) causing some fans to find the clip all a little too 'Mean Girls'. Miley then quickly removed the video and later said, "if we offended them we're super-sorry. They were being funny on their show and Elvis says imitation is the greatest form of flattery, so we were imitating them." Lovato and Gomez never said whether or not they found it particularly flattering.
