Miranda Lambert Has Turned Her Heartbreaking Divorce Into Good Songwriting Material, Insisting She Has "Never Felt So Inspired".
The singer and her now-ex Blake Shelton announced their four-year marriage was over in July (15), on the same day their divorce was finalised.
Miranda has since moved her belongings out of the stars' marital home in Oklahoma and relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where she unveiled her star on the Music City Walk of Fame on Tuesday (06Oct15).
During the ceremony, the Mama's Broken Heart singer professed her love for the country music mecca and revealed she has been hitting the studio hard in recent weeks.
"A little more than 10 years ago I had gotten off (reality TV show) Nashville Star - which was what I did instead of college - and I was living in Nashville and I made my first record," she told the crowd. "I got scared and ran back home to Mama.
"But I moved back here this year and I have never felt so inspired... This has been my first summer off the road in years, and I wrote every day. I feel more a part of Nashville than I ever have. I feel so at home here and so happy, and I am thrilled to have my name on the Music City Walk of Fame."
She added, "This is such an honour. Thank you for letting me live this amazing life. I love it so much."
Miranda, who is currently working on the follow-up to her 2014 album Platinum, has yet to publicly discuss the breakdown of her marriage. Blake, on the other hand, has been more open about the split, insisting this week he is "in a good place".
"I'm good, I'm good," he said during an interview on the CMT Hot 20 Countdown TV show, "I'm in a good place. I wasn't, but I am now. It's amazing how quickly life can turn around for you. I've had some pretty cool things in recent times that have happened, and I'm loving it."
He also previously confessed their prenuptial agreement had helped to make their divorce proceedings run more smoothly.
Last month (Sep15), he told U.S. radio's the Bobby Bones Show, "In Oklahoma, it happens so fast. Like, Miranda and I didn't have any kids, and we had a prenuptial agreement... Once we filed for divorce, it was over in, like, I think it was, like, a nine or 10-day waiting period until it's over."
The former couple began dating in 2005 and wed in 2011.
