Working on new movie 21 GRAMS has prompted THE RING star Naomi Watts to develop a nasty smoking habit.

The actress has never been a big smoker until now - after hanging around with chain-smokers Benicio Del Toro and Sean Penn on the set of the movie.

She explains, "I'm a social smoker, and I hardly ever buy cigarettes. I've never smoked more than five a day.

"On 21 Grams, every single person on that set smoked, and they smoked hard-core, two packs a day. I ended up smoking, and then I realised, I'm actually enjoying this."

And now Watts is considering quitting her bad habit for good.

She adds, "My friend told me about this hypnotherapy but it's a bit creepy, this messing with the mind."
