Pamela Anderson is facing a legal battle over the name of her fashion range - she's been accused of copying the title from a New York-based clothing company.
Executives at Maggy London International filed a lawsuit in Manhattan federal court on Monday (12Apr10) alleging they trademarked the name Muse in 2002, the same title Anderson gave her collection with couturier Richie Rich, which debuted last year (09).
Maggy London bosses claim they contacted the actress and made her aware of the trademark, but they allege she refused to drop it from her environmentally-friendly style line.
Anderson went on to sponsor fashion shows in New York and Miami, Florida with her brand, labelling some of the designs A*Muse - a move which Maggy London chiefs claim was "a disingenuous effort to disguise their infringing activities".
The suit seeks an order barring the designing duo from using any "colorable imitation" of the trademark and forcing them to hand over all profits and remaining clothing, for "impoundment or destruction", according to the New York Post.
It is the second barrage of bad news for Anderson in as many days - on Monday (12Apr10) it was revealed the star allegedly owes almost $500,000 (£333,000) in unpaid taxes to the state of California.
