The 41 year-old music mogul said, "I am genuinely sorry," after he received a backlash from fans for wearing the headdress on Elle UK's magazine cover.
Pharrell Williams accidently angered a lot of his fans.
The 41 year-old music mogul caused outrage when appearing on the front cover of Elle UK's July Issue for wearing a native Indian headdress.
Members of the general public, who had a problem with the cover shot, quickly took to Twitter to express how upset they were by using the hashtag "#nothappy," while making negative comments about the 'Blurred Lines' singer's head attire.
"He really needs to hire a head-wear advisor. Native Americans to Pharrell: We're #NotHappy," one user tweeted, with another adding, "Seriously? A whole magazine staff & @pharrell's handlers thought this was a good idea?"
As soon as the backlash began, Pharrell issued an apology by releasing a statement, via New York Daily News.
"I respect and honor every kind of race, background and culture," Pharrell said. "I am genuinely sorry."
However, it could be argued that the 'Happy' singer should be allowed to wear a headdress without controversy as he noted, in a 2010 interview with The Oprah Magazine, there is Native American heritage in his ancestry.
This must be Pharrell's first flaw in recent years as he is now one of music's most sought after acts after having a hugely success year in 2013, and when 'G I R L' was dropped (his latest studio album) he dominated the charts.
The secret to his success is the motivation Pharrell's wife, Helen Lasichanh, gives him.

"We just motivated each other as friends. She pushes me. I push her," he told Elle. "I wasn't always that way. I took a lot of years to understand the value of things and the value of the people you work with. The value of your fans who ultimately hold you high and lift you up. We're just hang gliders, dude, and they are carrying us around."
