No, Ricky Gervais did not win an Emmy but he did give the best acceptance speech of the night.
Ricky Gervais didn't take home an Emmy at last night’s awards, but give it a week or so and we might all believe that he did. The actor and comedian stole the show during the award’s ceremony, when he pretended to win an award and even managed a few tears.
Ricky Gervais pretended to win an Emmy award during Sunday night’s ceremony.
Taking to the stage to present the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, Gervais (who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie this year), told the audience, “Back again, to lose another one.”
“Go on. I haven't lost yet. Still hope... there's no hope,” he continued. “The smart money’s on Rylance or Hutton some else basically. It doesn't matter no one remembers."

"In a few days' time, people see a picture of me up here, they go, 'He probably won an Emmy.' They've seen me talking to Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet, they go, 'He talked to Ryan Seacrest, he's a winner.'"
"So take a picture...In fact, can I have an Emmy? Where's the Emmy girl Can she come out... Can I get an Emmy?" Gervais continued, as one of the Emmy models came out with a statue for the funnyman.

"Sexist, no Emmy men?” he joked, before holding the statue above his head and getting rather emotional. "So, take a picture of that. 'Thank you so much! Thank you!’” he said while mock crying. “Tweet that, and, uh, Bob's your uncle. Right.’”
Gervais then went on to do his actual duty for the night, presenting 'Veep's' Tony Hale with the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. But even without a statue Gervais was the night’s real winner, after all his moment probably is the one we’ll all still remember by the time next year's ceremony rolls around.
