The singer's power is demonstrated by police action in Thailand
Rihanna – if she’s not wowing thousands of people at once on a stadium tour or selling millions of albums within in weeks of release, she’s getting illegal animal owners in hot water with the local authorities. Sorry what? Yeah that’s right: Rihanna’s a superhero.
Rihanna does her best Miley Cyrus impression
See what happened is this: while taking a break from her Diamonds World Tour, Rihanna decided some downtime in Thailand would be a good idea. While there, she sampled the local cuisine, stayed in a posh hotel (conjecture, but obviously true) and took a photo of herself with slow loris on her shoulder.
"Phuket authorities were alerted to the picture (of Rihanna), and last night police arrested the two individuals who brought out the loris as a photo opportunity for tourists," a Phuket district chief, Weera Kerdsirimongkon, said by telephone Sunday. (The Telegraph)
The charge for these two - a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy - carries a penalty of up to four years in prison and a 40,000 baht ($1,300) fine. So it’s serious business. Weera added, "It's like a cat-and-mouse game. But this time it's bigger because a celebrity like Rihanna posted the picture, and there were more than 200,000 'likes' from around the world."
It was a holiday full of exotic charm for Rihanna, who also posted pictures of her playing with elephants, but not everything was suitable for children, no; some of her younger fans would have been horrified to hear what goes on in Phuket’s red light district.
"Gave the immigration guy my passport and he handed me this in return without a word. Lol," Tweeted the star on her departure. It was a picture of the singer that said "I love Rihanna." Holidays, huh?
