Robin Williams' final resting place will be very close to home. The legendary comedian was reportedly cremated and his ashes were scattered in the San Francisco Bay on August 12th, just one day after he committed suicide.

More precisely, Williams' final resting place was off the Coast of Marin County in Tiburon, Calif, where his house was, a death certificate dated Wednesday (Aug 20th) and obtained by Radar Online, stated.

On August 11th, the Oscar-winning star, who has had a long battle with sobriety and depression, was found in his bedroom, fully clothed, and gently suspended in a seat with a belt wrapped around his neck, with one end wedged between the door and the frame of his closet.

Paramedics were not called to the 'Mrs. Doubtfire' actor's home as he had passed away quite some time beforehand, and he was officially pronounced dead only seven minutes after the 911 call, at which point rigor mortis had already set in.

Williams' widow, Susan Schneider, released a statement several days later, revealing that prior to his death he was dealing with "early stages of Parkinson's Disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly."

"It is our hope in the wake of Robin's tragic passing, that others will find the strength to seek the care and support they need to treat whatever battles they are facing so they may feel less afraid," she continued.

However, Schneider did thank the "tremendous outpouring of affection and admiration" her family received for Williams after hearing of his death. "His greatest legacy, besides his three children, is the joy and happiness he offered to others, particularly to those fighting personal battles," she added.
