Shia LaBeouf appears nude in a new video for the Sigur Ros song 'Fjogur Piano'. The clip was released on Monday (June 18, 2012) as part of a video project the band commissioned to promote their new album 'Valtari'.
The ambient Icelandic rockers invited filmmakers to shoot videos for each of the tracks on the new record, with acclaimed documentary maker Alma Har'el enlisting the Transformers actor to help with 'Fjogur Piano'. In the video, LeBeouf and his girlfriend (Denna Thompsen) are seen fighting, making up, and becoming intimate with each other, though the director reveals it's actually an artistic interpretation about the struggles of various addictions. The clip caused a stir after going viral on Monday, though Sigur Ros bassist Georg Holm told Tmz.com, "Icelandic people are not prudish about people being naked", adding, "At first I didn't know what to make of the video, because it is so full of ideas and confusion. I love it. It seems to have no beginning and no end, and just makes you think about what might and might not be going on". It seems not everyone was so enamoured by the video though, with the Los Angeles Times musing, "The video renders the song laughable, turning seriousness into pointless, art-school pretension".
'Valtari' - Sigur Ros' sixth studio album - was released on May 23, 2012 to positive reviews from critics.
