The trend-setting pop star and dapper British actor will serve as honorary co-chairs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit in New York City, which many consider to be the Oscars of the style world, on 2 May (16).

They will share the job with U.S. Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, designers Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesquiere, and Miuccia Prada, as well as Apple's chief design officer Jonathan Ive.

Ive and Apple will have a strong presence at fashion's biggest night, as the theme of the 2016 event is Manus x MAChina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, after the Met exhibition of the same name, which will take a close look at the impact technology has on fashion.

Swift and Elba follow in the red carpet footsteps of Jennifer Lawrence who co-chaired the event earlier this year (15).
