1989 has the quickest climb to five million sales since Usher's Confessions managed the feat in just 19 weeks back in 2004.

It's Swift's third album to sell at least five million copies, following the successes of Fearless and her self-titled debut.

She also becomes the first artist to pass the five million sales mark since Adele's 21, which has sold over 11 million units to date.

1989 is on the rise again in the Billboard Hot 100, jumping back into the top three this week (beg06Jul15).

The album has spent all 36 of its weeks on release in the top 10.
