Earlier this month it was reported that Taylor Swift would be joining NBC's 'The Voice' as an advisor to the singing contestants, and finally this exciting news has been confirmed by the show's official emcee Carson Daly.

The 24 year-old singer will be joining the hit singing competition show for its seventh season and have a role much like the departing Chris Martin did, to share her expertise on how to become successful with the show's singers.

Daley announced Swift's upcoming gig on the Today show on Friday (Oct 3rd). "Seven-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift is going to act as the sole mentor for all of our teams during the knock-out round," he said. "We're happy to have her."

The 'Shake It Off' singer will be working alongside the 'The Voice' coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, as well as new comers Gwen Stefani and Pharrell Williams who are replacing Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green.

The four coaches will also have their own advisors, Levine is expected to work with Stevie Nicks, Gavin Rossdale will work with his wife Stefani, country music group Little Big Town will collaborate with Shelton and Alicia Keys will join Pharrell.

Season seven of 'The Voice' premiered on September 22nd, which is around a month before Swift's upcoming fifth studio album '1989' will be released (0ct 27th). She previously performed on the NBC show in season four last year.
