The new track is to be released on Swift's upcoming album '1989', set to be released at the end of October.
Taylor Swift not only has issues with her ex-boyfriends, it seems, but also with colleagues in her industry. Ahead of the release of her new album, she has revealed that one of its tracks, ‘Bad Blood’, is about a fellow female pop star.
Taylor Swift revealed a long-standing rivalry with an unnamed female pop star
The 24 year old singer intimated to Rolling Stone magazine that she and the subject of the song had been on uneasy terms for a long time. Last year, an encounter at an awards ceremony made her realise that they were “straight-up enemies”.
"She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?' [Then] she did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.' And it wasn't even about a guy!”
Though Swift didn’t go so far as to reveal her rival’s identity, she went on to drop a few clues during her interview, to the extent that an industry insider would probably guess who she’s talking about in an instant.
"It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontational -- you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it."

It’s not surprising that Swift would be hurt enough to write a song about her relationship with the unnamed star, as she’s said on multiple occasions that she puts a premium on girls sticking together in a male-dominated industry.
‘Bad Blood’, along with lead single ‘Shake It Off’, is taken from 1989, Swift’s fifth studio album, due for release on October 27th. Early indications are that it will see her move away from her trademark country-pop mixture and lean more towards the pop side of things.
