Taylor Swift is continuing to sweep all before as - after her fourth album Red monstered its way to more than 1.5 million copies sold in the US in just two weeks - she crossed over to Europe and scooped three gongs at the MTV Europe Music Awards. Swift’s also hit number one in a few countries on the continent, including the UK, and she capped that success with wins in the Best Female Act, Best Live Act and Best Look categories at the ceremony in Frankfurt, Germany.

Speaking on her wins, Swift enthused "I am so excited I can't believe you gave me three awards. I'm kind of insecure in general - so this is great for my self-confidence." Bless. Her triumph was matched by the recently single Justin Bieber, who had something to smile about after a week which saw his split from Selena Gomez become public knowledge. He won three awards too, triumphing in the Best Male, Best Pop and Best World Stage. We’re not quite sure what the latter category is, but if it’s what it sounds like then Fela Kuti’s got to feel gutted at missing out on that one.
