Tracy Morgan has left the New Jersey hospital where he has been receiving treatment after being involved in a fatal car crash.

The 45 year-old comedian, whose condition was upgraded to "fair" only a matter of days ago, has been transferred to an unnamed rehab facility to recover from several severe injuries he sustained.

Morgan, who was travelling in a limo bus when a Walmart tuck crashed into it nearly two weeks ago, endured a broken nose, broken ribs, and underwent emergency surgery to repair a broken femur.

However, leaving hospital doesn't necessarily the former 'SNL' star is nearing a full recovery, he still has a very long way to go, a spokesmen confirmed.

"Tracy has been transferred to an undisclosed rehab center, where he is expected to remain for the next few weeks," said the statement from spokesman Lewis Kay.

"While he is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go. He and (fiancée) Megan (Wollover) wanted to publicly express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for the unbelievable care and attention they provided him," Kay added.

The crash, which occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike on Sat 7th June, tragically killed Morgan's mentor, 63-year-old James McNair of Peekshill, New York.

The man behind the wheel of the Walmart truck, Kevin Roper, 35, of Jonesboro, pleaded not guilty to one count of vehicular homicide and four counts of assault by auto, during his first court appearance at Middlesex County Superior Court in New Brunswick, New Jersey, on June 11th.

According to a criminal complaint filed by New Jersey State Police driver caused the accident by driving his truck "without having slept for a period in excess of 24 hours." He is currently out of jail on $50,000 bail, but if convicted of all charges he will face up to 15 years in prison.
