Actor/comedian Eddie Izzard became the latest celebrity to carry the Olympic torch on Tuesday (17Jul12) as he helped countdown the final 10 days to the London Games.
Izzard, a marathon enthusiast, was part of a relay team which carried the beacon from Pevensey to Bexhill, the Sussex town where he grew up.
The Olympic torch is expected to reach London this weekend (21Jul12).
It will feature prominently in the opening ceremony of the Games on 27 July (12).
British boy band The Wanted, rockers Muse, actor James MCAvoy, Black Eyed Peas rapper will.i.am and singers Melanie Chisholm and John Legend have also served as official torchbearers for the 2012 Olympics during the fabled beacon's tour through the U.K.
