Kim Richards has been formally charged following her drunken arrest in April. The 50-year-old has been charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and battery on a police officer, according to a report. Apparently the Los Angeles D.A. was unimpressed with Richards' efforts to sober up by checking herself into a luxury rehab facility.

If convicted, Richards could be facing more than two years in jail, according to reports in TMZ. Richards is not the only star of the Real Housewives franchise to be in legal trouble: Real Housewives of New Jersey star, Teresa Giudice, is currently in prison for tax fraud.

The Real Housewives star was arrested on 16th April in a hotel in Beverly Hills. The police were reportedly called to the hotel after Richards refused to leave. She was arrested after attempting to hide in a bathroom, from which she was reportedly dragged. She was taken to a nearby Sheriff's office and jailed but, during her arrest, she reportedly kicked a police officer.

Richards was released on bail and soon after went to rehab. She did not release a public statement about her decision to seek help but her Real Housewives co-star and close friend, Brandi Glanville, confirmed Richards was in the facility.

"If you saw where her rehab was...I was like, 'Anyone could use 30 days here,'" Glanville told Jenny McCarthy whilst appearing on her SiriusXM radio show (via E!). "It's really nice. I don't want to out where she is, but it's beautiful. I took the kids and I was like, 'This is beautiful.'"
