Fact: Country star-turned-actor Tim Mcgraw has signed on to narrate a new documentary about retired basketball superstar Shaquille O'Neal's friendship with his former college coach Dale Brown. The singer, who is the son of baseball star Frank 'Tug' MCGraw, will front the ESPN Films documentary Shaq & Dale. MCGraw, a lifelong Louisiana State University fan, jumped at the chance to play his part in the story of the college's most famous basketball player and his coach.

Fact: Retired basketball icon Shaquille O'Neal is aiming to conquer the world of Tv by becoming the star of his own sitcom. U.S. network executives at TruTv have ordered a pilot episode of the tentatively-titled Shaq Inc., which will be a workplace comedy based around his real-life business empire. The former sportsman, who has previously notched up acting credits in Adam Sandler films Grown Ups 2 and Blended, will also serve as an executive producer, along with Tv veteran Mike Tollin.

Fact: Basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal proved his rock 'n' roll credentials by performing a rendition of Bon Jovi's classic You Give Love A Bad Name at a college bar. The retired Los Angeles Lakers hero clambered onstage at a Louisiana State University campus bar in Baton Rouge on Thursday night (18Sep14) to join a local band for the impromptu show. Film footage posted on Tmz.com shows the star jumping up and down with his arms around one of the musicians before grabbing a microphone to holler along to the chorus of the song.

Fact: Basketball great Shaquille O'Neal has sold off his Orlando, Florida home for just $10 (£6.25). The retired sportsman-turned-Tv pundit filed the trustee's deed in California in March (14), agreeing to hand over the keys of his five-bedroom, four-bathroom pad to Haitian businessman Yves Paul Demesmin for the tiny sum, according to Tmz.com. O'Neal has yet to reveal why he let the property go so cheaply after purchasing it for $235,000 (£146,875) in 2012.
