Lloyd lives the good life: he goes clubbing almost every night, is surrounded by beautiful girls and takes ecstasy almost religiously. While Lloyd may act like a twenty something, he is really in his thirties. And he doesn't live in a bachelor pad; he lives with his alcoholic father, who he doesn't get along with.
He gets into trouble with local dealer Solo, who smuggles drugs in from Amsterdam and soon Lloyd finds himself with a debt to pay back. He worries about this until he meets Heather at a nightclub one night. Heather is a Canadian working for the organisation Scotland Against Narcotics.
Lloyd and Heather hit it off and the former introduces the latter to ecstasy. Their relationship speeds up after that and they have the time of their lives with each other. Lloyd falls back down to Earth, however, when he remembers about the debt he has to pay Solo. Along the way, he wonders if he's really in love with Heather, or if it's the drug that made the couple fall in love.
Ecstasy is based on the short story, The Undefeated, by Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting). It was directed by Rob Heydon in his feature length debut.
