Thanks to her show-stopping headlining performance at Glastonbury last weekend, Adele’s third album 25 has returned to the number one spot in the UK albums chart. The album enjoyed a huge surge in sales (up 231% from last week) thanks to her Glastonbury appearance, which was streamed live on the BBC and watched by over 3.5 million viewers.

25, which was released on November 20th 2015, has now spent 13 weeks at number one in the UK. Its rise up the charts this week was also helped by it finally being made available on streaming services last Friday (24 June).

Adele’s other albums have also risen up the charts. Her 2008 debut 19 moved up a massive 163 places to number 12, putting it back in the top 40 after a six-month break. Her follow up 21 moved up 57 places to take the number 10 spot.

The ‘Glastonbury’ effect also helped Sunday night headliners Coldplay. They enjoyed a 28% uplift week on week, according to the Official Charts Company, taking A Head Full Of Dreams up three places back to the number two spot.

Friday night headliners Muse also saw their latest record Drones climb a huge 163 places to take the number 16 spot. ELO, who performed in this year’s ‘Legends’ slot moved up four places to number three with greatest hits collection All Over The World.

The 1975 who performed on the Pyramid Stage last Saturday lept 22 places up the chart with second album I Like It When You Sleep… which is this week's number 23. The Last Shadow Puppets also returned to the top 40 with Everything You've Come To Expect at 35.
