We might not be able to gather in a muddy field with 200,000 revellers to watch some iconic performers in completely inappropriate festival attire this year, but at least we won't lose our tent or be forced to hover over some seriously questionable portable toilets as Emily and Michael Eavis brings Glastonbury Festival to our homes in a thrilling global streaming event.

Earlier this year, the organisers announced that Glastonbury Festival would not take place (at least, not in the usual sense) thanks to lockdown restrictions in the UK, and so all ticket deposits from 2019 will roll over to 2022.

Janelle Monae CONFIRMED FOR Glastonbury

Excitement ahead of Glastonbury 2019 later this summer has increased with the announcement that R&B star Janelle Monáe has been added to the line-up.

Speaking on BBC Radio 6 Music’s breakfast show, Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis told host Lauren Laverne that the American singer had been booked to headline the West Holts Stage at the festival, on a night yet to be confirmed.

Anticipation for Glastonbury Festival later this summer has risen with the announcement that R&B star Janelle Monáe has been added to the bill.

Speaking on BBC Radio 6 Music’s breakfast show on Monday morning (January 7th), Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis told host Lauren Laverne that the American singer had been booked for the 2019 edition of the festival, and would be headlining the West Holts Stage on a night yet to be confirmed.

Monáe, who released her third studio album Dirty Computer last year to rapturous reception, has not performed at Glastonbury since 2011, when she rolled out a set that was recently voted as one of the 100 finest that Worthy Farm had ever seen.

Ariana Grande ADDS UK TOUR DATES

Ariana Grande has given fans a little Sweetener, announcing extra dates for the UK and Ireland leg of her arena tour next summer.

Originally, the ‘thank u, next’ chart-topping star announced a brace of London shows in August 2019, before returning to the UK the following month for gigs in Birmingham, Glasgow, Sheffield and Dublin.

Following the excellent news this week that Glastonbury Festival’s organisers have booked pop icon Kylie Minogue to perform the fabled ‘legends slot’ for the Sunday afternoon of its 2019 edition, we got to thinking – what other musical heroes of years gone by would we like to see do the job?

The organisers of Glastonbury Festival have revealed that pop icon Kylie Minogue will perform in the coveted ‘legends slot’ at next year’s edition.

The 50 year old singer is set to perform in the heritage act slot on the Sunday afternoon (June 30th) of the 2019 edition of Glastonbury, a gig which traditionally draws the biggest crowd of the weekend. It’s a slot that has previously been filled by the likes of Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie and Jeff Lynne’s ELO.

Kylie was supposed to have headlined the festival in her own right back in 2005, but a breast cancer diagnosis forced her to pull out with just weeks to go, with sub-headliners Basement Jaxx stepping in to perform the Pyramid Stage closer instead. She eventually returned to Glastonbury in 2010 to make a guest appearance with Scissor Sisters, but to date has never played a full set at Worthy Farm.
