Honey Boo Boo's mother could lose custody of her kids.

Last week, TLC halted plans to continue with further seasons of the hit television show 'Her Comes Honey Boo Boo' following the revelation that June Shannon was dating an alleged sex offender, which could see the matriarch have her children taken away from her.

Mark McDaniel is said to have molested June's 20-year-old daughter Anna Cardwell, and now that the couple have rekindled their relationship, a spokesperson for child services in Georgia has suggested that they are investigating the situation

Georgia's Division of Family and Child Services representative Susan Boatwright, told PEOPLE magazine: ''Generally speaking, when we receive a report that children are living around a sex offender... it would certainly rise to the level of concern of us looking into it.''

Not only has the mother-of-four been scalded for letting the man into her house following the incident between her partner and 20-year-old daughter, but concerns have also been raised for her three other daughters - Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson, Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Shannon and Jessica 'Chubbs' Shannon - who are all minors.

While details of the case are not being revealed due to privacy laws, Susan added: ''From our point of view, when there are young children who are not able to protect themselves that are in daily contact or living with a sex offender, someone would go out and assess the situation and decide whether the children can stay there or not.

''If we thought a child was in harm's way in any way, shape or form, we would develop a safety plan and make sure the children are not around an offender.''
