The pressing question of Amandla Stenberg’s prom date has been resolved in spectacular fashion. It was Jaden Smith. We’re guessing they were made the Best Dressed couple award. Amandla wore a a metallic lamé gown, while Will Smith's 16-year-old son, ever the eclectic dresser, wore what appears to be a black-and-white dress, topped with a black blazer. Amandla had also braided her hair with matching grey yarn, which looked awesomely futuristic in her instagram photos.

But seriously, did Amandla just skip the awkward stage, or what?

Judging by the insta-updates, they had the full prom experience – corsages and all. The caption to one photo described Jaden simply as a “gentleman”.

It’s no wonder Smith is so good at prom escorting, after all he has some experience. It's been a busy prom season for Jaden, who dressed as a superhero for another prom earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Amandla’s schedule is also pretty packed for a high school senior. The young actress and model, best known for her role as Rue in The Hunger Games, is set to start filming on the NBC series Mr. Robinson, due to premiere later this year. Most recently, she made waves online with her commentary on cultural appropriation Don’t Cash Crop On My Cornrows: A Crash Course on Black Culture went viral and got picked up by major news outlets.
