High school nerd Charley Brewster is in his senior year of high school and dating the popular beautiful British exchange student, Amy. When fellow classmate Adam Johnson goes missing, Charley isn't bothered by this - Adam is most likely skipping class, in his opinion. But his best friend, 'Evil' Ed, is concerned.

One night, when Amy is round at Charley's house, his mother introduces them to his next door neighbour, Jerry, who seems more interested in Amy then Charley. When more people start disappearing, 'Evil' Ed makes an alarming discovery - all the disappearances seem to occur around Jerry's house. Another shocking bombshell reveals that Jerry is a vampire.

At first, Charley reacts to this in disbelief, thinking that Jerry would have a better name if he were a vampire. But after breaking into his neighbour's house and seeing proof, Charley is forced to accept that his neighbour is not all he appears. And when his mother and his girlfriend become the latest targets of Jerry's attacks, Charley must find a way to kill him, with the help of self-proclaimed vampire killer and Las Vegas magician Peter.
