Caitlyn Jenner’s son Brody has revealed that his relationship with his father has improved significantly since her sex reassignment surgery. In a new interview with E! News, he said that she’s been more fun to be around.

“I've known Bruce for a long time and I didn't really get along with Bruce,” said Brody, who is Caitlyn's son with Linda Thompson. “Caitlyn and I get along a little more, because Caitlyn is actually who she really is and she's living her life finally now as the person she actually was.”

Caitlyn has freely admitted that she felt that her relationship with her four eldest children deteriorated ever since she married Kris Jenner in 1991. However, they divorced earlier this year before Caitlyn’s transition operation in May, and it seems that it’s paved the way for a reconstruction in relations with his other children.

Brody, whose mother is actress Linda Thompson, also said that the process has not always been easy for him to handle, telling US TV show ‘Extra’: “I'm not gonna sit here and say that it was the easiest thing in the world; it opened my eyes to a lot of different things - to be open, and be understanding. Everybody's going through their own little struggles and you got to be open and you got to just accept.”

“Caitlyn is a much freer, happier person and I think that's very special,” added Brody, 31. “I think that the most important thing is that people who are in that situation, don't be afraid to be yourself. Be yourself. And if you're not accepted by your family, there will be people who will accept you.”

Cassandra Marino, who is Jenner’s daughter with Chrystie Scott, previously revealed substantively the same thing when asked about it by People. “My relationship with Caitlyn is much better than with Bruce, but we still have a lot of work to do. We didn't talk for years, and now we see each other every couple of weeks and talk on the phone, which I am grateful for.”

Brody’s brother Brandon also said, during Caitlyn’s ‘20/20’ interview with Diane Sawyer, “In seeing [her] come out to me and explain [her] true self, I was more proud right then to carry the last name Jenner, to be a part of the family, than at any time before.”
