Drummer Sheila E has opened up about her secret romance with guitar great Carlos Santana in her new memoir.

Prince's longtime bandmate and former fiancee has written about her romances in new book The Beat of My Own Drum and admits even close friends and family members were shocked to learn she dated Santana.

She says, "No one knew that. He was my first love."

And there may be another chapter to add about her romance with the Smooth hitmaker - because she didn't reveal everything in the book.

She adds, "There was more to tell."
