NBC have announced that, after the success of their live production of 'The Sound of Music Live!', the network's next stage adaptation will be the beloved story of 'Peter Pan'.
The success of last December's live television stage production of 'The Sound of Music' has encouraged NBC to give it another crack. The next show will be the universally loved story of 'Peter Pan', the boy who can fly and never ages, and lives out his endless childhood in the fictional 'Neverland'.
The cast of NBC's 'The Sound of Music'
NBC entertainment chairman, Bob Greenblatt, took his chance at the 2014 winter Television Critics Association press tour, this past Sunday (Jan 19th), to reveal the network's future plans, and announced the adaptation of Broadway's 'Peter Pan' will be aired on December 4th.
"We had so much fun doing a big musical that the family could watch over the holidays, so we're going to do it again," Greenblatt said. "Get ready for flying children and some start-of-the-art technology for Tinkerbell."
Casting for 'Peter Pan' is already underway but when a fan asked about who Greenblatt would like to see star in the stage show, he replied, "I want Miley Cyrus!"
