Young Adult Trailer

Mavis Gary is the ghostwriter for a successful series of young adult novels entitled the Waverly Prep series. Lately, though, the books have been lagging, so the publishers have decided to cancel them. Mavis has almost finished what will be the last book in the series but is struggling with the last chapter. She is also struggling with more personal issues in her life: she has a drinking problem and longs to relive the glory days of high school, where she was a popular cheerleader and dating the resident 'It' boy, Buddy Slade.

This longing to relive days gone by only gets stronger when Mavis receives an email from Buddy about a piece of exciting news: he and his wife have given birth to their first child. Mavis decides that this email is a sign that she and Buddy will reunite and possibly marry, so she heads back to her small hometown, Mercury.

Unfortunately, no one is too happy at Mavis' return. Many still remember her as 'the psychotic prom queen bitch' and it is soon revealed that Mavis wasn't as popular as she thought. Mavis runs into another school friend, Matt, in a bar, who tells her that Mavis' plans to pursue Buddy are a bad idea. Despite this, Mavis sets out to restore her perfect high school life, which, inevitably, ends in disaster.
