Chk Chk Chk (AKA !!!; formed 1996)
Chk Chk Chk is an American rock band whose line-up features Nic Offer, Allan Wilson, Mario Andreoni, Dan Gorman, Paul Quattrone and Rafael Cohen.
Formation: Chk Chk Chk began in Sacramento, California after Black Liquorice and Popesmashers toured together with The Yah Mos joining them later. They named themselves after the unusual subtitles on the film 'The Gods Must Be Crazy', in which a language featuring a clicking noise was represented as '!!!'.
Musical career: Chk Chk Chk released their self-titled debut album in 2000 through Gold Standard Laboratories. In 2003, they released single 'Me and Giuliani Down By the School Yard' from their next album 'Louden Up Now' which came out the following year. In 2005, they released the 'Take Ecstasy with Me/Get Up' EP, and it was that year that former drummer Mikel Gius was killed in a road accident. In 2007, they released third album 'Myth Takes'. Previous singer John Pugh departed that year and was briefly replaced by Shannon Funchess. 2010 saw the release of next album 'Strange Weather, Isn't It?', featuring the single 'AM/FM', and three years later they unveiled 'THR!!!ER' which included singles 'Slyd' and 'One Girl/One Boy'.
