Christina Ricci is glad to be out of the ''hurricane'' of her early 20s.

The 32-year-old actress has no problem with getting older because she has learned to be more calm and less self-destructive.

She said: ''I'm so glad I'm not 20 years old any more. I was in a hurricane.

''I'm a lot calmer now. I don't cause destruction for myself and others everywhere I go.

''I take things as they happen and I've learned t be calm about things. Troubleshoot as problems arise and just make the best out of things.''

The 'Bel Ami' actress - who is currently single - believes it is important not to let anyone change her as her best asset is her ''individuality''.

She told Britain's Marie Claire magazine: ''I've always said to people you should never let anyone try to change who you are because the only commodity you really have is you individuality. There are a million actresses and that's the only thing that makes you special.''

Christina values intelligence in any potential partners.

Asked what she goes for in a guy, she said: ''Somebody smart and funny that I love being with.''
