The writer passed away on 9 May (15), but his death was only made public last week after Sir Roger Moore paid tribute to him on Twitter.com.

Wood began his writing career in 1971 with Confessions of a Window Cleaner, which was later adapted into a saucy movie franchise. He went on to write several fiction novels, including Make it Happen to Me, A Dove Against Death, Soccer Thug and The Stewardesses, under a variety of pseudonyms.

Wood then moved into screenwriting and penned the script for James Bond films The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker. He was also the only author to write novels based on his James Bond screenplays with James Bond, The Spy Who Loved Me and James Bond and Moonraker.

In addition to the James Bond films, he wrote the screenplays for several other movies and TV shows, including 1985's Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins, Lovely Couple, and Dangerous Curves.
