Heavy metal band Converge cheated death when their tour bus hit a patch of treacherous black ice on the highway while travelling to a gig.
The Massachusetts-based rockers' vehicle spun 180 degrees and ended up facing the wrong direction in the terrifying incident as they headed to a show in Seattle, Washington this week (beg22Oct12), according to Blabbermouth.net
Band frontman Jacob Bannon took to Facebook.com to reassure fans, writing, "After driving all day/evening, we hit a patch of black ice in the mountains of Oregon.
"We were forced to turn into a highway divider at 40mph in order to avoid sliding under a slew of 18-wheelers. The van spun 180 degrees after impact, and we were left facing the wrong direction on the highway.
"With a little ingenuity and the help of a highway worker with some tow chains, we managed to pry our bumper off our front wheels. A few hours later, we were back on the road.
"Never take anything for granted. Just got to Seattle, time for a positive show. Thanks people."
