The Blur frontman worked with the Rolling in the Deep hitmaker on five tracks for the much-delayed follow-up to her 2011 record 21, but he is certain they will be rejected from the final album listing.

He tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Adele asked me to work with her and I took the time out for her... And I'm not a producer, so... I don't know what is happening really... Will she use any of the stuff? I don't think so. Let's wait and see... The thing is, she's very insecure. And she doesn't need to be, she's still so young."

Albarn also gave feedback on the material he had listened to, adding, "I heard the work she did with my friend Brian, aka Danger Mouse. It's very middle of the road."

Reports suggest Adele's new album could be released by the end of this year (15).
