Blur's 2023 comeback will be documented in a new concert film and feature-length documentary.
Blur are to release both a concert film and a documentary charting their 2023 reunion.
The 'Parklife' hitmakers - comprising Damon Albarn, Dave Rowntree, Graham Coxon and Alex James - got back together for their first album in eight years, 'The Ballad of Darren', and a number of live shows, including two giant gigs at London's Wembley Stadium, last year, and fans will get to relieve the biggest moments with the new projects.
According to Screen Daily, sales and distribution company Altitude have added the two titles to their European Film Market (EFM) slate, with both films set to be released in cinemas in the UK and Ireland later this year.
The feature-length documentary will come first, followed by the 'Blur: Live At Wembley Stadium' concert film.
Both will be directed by Toby L, who helmed the promo for the group's 2023 single 'St. Charles Square', as well as concert films from the likes of Liam Gallagher, Foals, and Olivia Rodrigo. Josh Connolly will produce via Up The Game, who also worked on the previously mentioned musical specials.
The news comes just a few weeks after frontman Damon declared it was almost time for Blur to "wrap up" again.
Speaking to French publication Les Inrockuptibles, as translated by Far Out magazine, he said: “It is time to wrap up this campaign.
“It’s too much for me. It was the right thing to do and an immense honour to play these songs again, spend time with these guys, make an album, blah-blah-blah.”
He added: “I’m not saying I won’t do it again, it was a beautiful success, but I’m not dwelling on the past.”
Damon has an opera coming out and he is preparing to start work on another album with his animated group Gorillaz with Jamie Hewlett.
